One of the most important parts of the @a16zcrypto report imo
DeAI vertical comes with huge potential, and it's not just about the benefits that AI and agents can and will bring to the app/UX layer of crypto.
On the infra level, decentralized networks can address some of the major pain points the AI industry is facing.
- Proof-of-Humanity systems help to separate human and AI activity
- DeFi ecosystems provide the economic base layer for AI agents
- Blockchains can provide scalable IP systems in the age of AI
- Decentralized compute and coordination networks keep AI open
While the AI hype in crypto has largely subsided since the end of the first agent wave, I'm sure we'll see a comeback of this vertical when markets accelerate again.
When it does, the infra layer could capture quite some attention imo.
