The ZK engineering team @brevis_zk seems to be taking a different direction compared to indirect competitors like Succinct and RISC0 (Boundless). All three share a common goal of supporting and expanding the market where ZK proofs can be utilized, based on zkVM research. However, while Succinct and RISC0 focus on expanding in the infrastructure areas like blockchain L1 and L2, Brevis is concentrating on proving various operations and evidence that occur at the "application" level. It can be seen as a position similar to a "ZK oracle." Mr. Hope shared some great materials on how Brevis's ZK proofs can be used in Uniswap's v4 pool. (Quoted text) I initially thought that ZK would primarily spread in the area of privacy (ZCash, @billions_ntwk ..), secondly in blockchain infrastructure (Ethereum, ZK rollups ..), and only finally in the application domain. However, looking at Brevis's direction and the numerous applications embracing it, I expect that ZK will rapidly spread simultaneously in all three directions.

Is there a project that Vitalik ranks second? In October, the ZK infrastructure leader Brevis, which received a shoutout from Vitalik, should be followed up with the mindset of investing in tech stocks. There’s even good news of securing a $9 million grant from the Uniswap Foundation. Uniswap has selected Brevis as a technical partner for the v4 ecosystem expansion. The DEX leader Uniswap has continuously evolved from V1 to V4. v1: Supports exchanges centered around Ethereum (ETH). For example, through ETH like DAI→ETH→USDC. v2: Allows the creation of arbitrary two-token pools, enabling direct exchanges between all tokens. v3: Introduced Concentrated Liquidity. Liquidity can be concentrated in specific price ranges, providing deeper liquidity and lower slippage with the same capital, enhancing capital efficiency. v4: Evolved with a Hooks structure, allowing arbitrary logic to be inserted at specific points like "before and after swap" in the pool. For instance, dynamic fees, on-chain oracle verification, automatic rebalancing, MEV prevention logic, etc., transforming into a platform where anyone can assemble their own trading features. However, as it evolved to v4, it became more complex. Each pool has different fee structures, call orders, verification logic, and oracle dependencies, so even a swap from token A to token B can vary in gas fees, slippage, and execution success rates depending on which pool combination (path) is used. Routers that connect multiple pools to find the optimal path must consider path exploration and various hook executions, increasing computations and gas fee burdens. While flexibility has increased, aggregators now face the new challenge of recognizing and reflecting the unique operations of each pool. To put it metaphorically, it used to be that you could choose one of 2-3 highways (v2/v3), but now there are numerous branching points (v4 hooks) where each tollgate has different rules, making navigation (router) more complicated and toll fees (gas) higher. Thus, the Uniswap Foundation created a $9 million rebate program. Using Brevis's ZK Data Coprocessor and Pico zkVM, routers can generate zero-knowledge proofs for transactions that pass through eligible v4 pools. Brevis has become the engine operating the world's largest DEX, Uniswap. It offers up to $9 million worth of gas rebates to routers integrating pools with v4 hooks. The system uses Brevis's ZK data coprocessor and zkVM to calculate and verify all rebates trustlessly without centralized databases or opaque computations. This provides economic incentives to prioritize hook integration, accelerating v4 adoption. This Uniswap partnership is the first major case of ZK technology being applied in actual DeFi operations. Previously, ZK technology emerged to solve scalability issues like Layer2, but it is becoming a core technology for operational automation and ensuring transparency. The DAI ecosystem incentivizes stability through a system of penalties and rewards. If the value of DAI falls below its $1 peg, users who hold DAI can vote to increase the stability fee, which increases the cost of creating new DAI and incentivizes users to hold or buy DAI until the price stabilizes. Conversely, if the value of DAI rises above its $1 peg, the stability fee is lowered, incentivizing users to sell DAI and bringing the price back down.

The stability fee is a fee paid by users who generate new DAI through collateralized debt positions (CDPs). The fee incentivizes users to hold or buy DAI when its value falls below the $1 peg.

Suppose the value of DAI falls below $1. In that case, the stability fee is raised, which increases the cost of generating new DAI and incentivizes users to hold or buy existing DAI until the price stabilizes. Conversely, if the value of DAI rises above $1, the stability fee is lowered, incentivizing users to sell DAI and bringing the price back down.

MKR is the native cryptocurrency of the MakerDAO platform, which powers the DAI stablecoin. MKR is used to govern the MakerDAO platform and to vote on changes to the system, such as changes to the stability fee.

Additionally, when users generate new DAI through collateralized debt positions (CDPs), they must pay a small amount of MKR as a transaction fee. The MKR collected from these transaction fees is burned, which reduces the total supply of MKR over time.

The DAI savings rate is an annualized interest rate paid to users who hold DAI in a designated savings account. The DAI savings rate is calculated based on the stability fee, the interest rate charged on collateral deposited in Maker Vaults.

When the stability fee is higher than the DAI savings rate, users are incentivized to hold DAI in the savings account and earn interest rather than using it to generate more DAI. The DAI savings rate can vary over time based on changes to the stability fee and demand for DAI. Holding DAI in the savings account can be a helpful strategy for users who want to earn a return on their assets without exposing themselves to excessive risk.

DAI is a decentralized stablecoin designed to maintain a value of one US dollar. It is a product of MakerDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) built on the Ethereum blockchain. The project was proposed by Rune Christensen, the founder of MakerDAO, in 2014 to create a stablecoin that was decentralized, transparent, and backed by collateral.

The first version of DAI, called Single-Collateral Dai, was launched in December 2017 and was initially backed only by Ethereum (ETH). Later, the Dai Stablecoin System evolved into a Multi-Collateral Dai system that allows different assets as collateral to back the stablecoin.

How does DAI work
