A focused upgrade bringing MEV Auction (KIP-249) support, API/storage improvements, and no hardfork required.
Here’s what it includes ⤵️
MEV Auction for CNs
• v2.1.0 accepts BidTx
• External Auctioneer connects via websocket (auction namespace) to deliver winners
• Enable WS and restrict exposure (firewall/allowlist recommended)
Full Nodes: Storage Efficiency
• LevelDB snappy is now default
• Reclaim disk by running chain DB compaction on older data (long-running; increased I/O)
Archive Nodes: Experimental FlatTrie
• Erigon-style state layout via --state.experimental-flat-trie
• Fresh sync required; some features unavailable (e.g., eth_getProof, live pruning, rewinds)
