i have watched @katana from an idea, to the first announcement to flawless execution
and i nothing comes close to katana as a defi-native most-advanced & builder ready l2
why?
the chain is opinionated. incubated by @GSR_io and @0xPolygon it carries a lot of learnings of polygon's experience in growing an ecosystem full of quality apps and real users
katana only has core apps for each fundamental primitive of defi -> dex, money market, launchpad, and staked derivatives (weeth, lbtc etc)
by being opinionated around core apps, it opens up entire floor build upon solid base of concentrated liquidity to everyone
one dex, one money market makes it easy to deploy capital and this model encourages builders like us to utilise existing liquidity in innovative ways and build distribution
i think that katana has all the right pieces to be resounding success --> it's zk l2, has good tps, and in every technical aspect competitive to the current l2 incumbents
but, the best thing is the builder support, focus on quality execution and a very focused and targed approach towards execution
polygon has done it before, to build a legion of devs that still even today prefer to build on polygon (even tho ef lists it as seperate ecosystem in the dev report, that was some nice 2-3 days of ct drama lol)
and it can, and it will do it again
when i try to support any chain more preferentially the main thing i look for is team, quality of execution & relentless hunger to be the best without giving in to the noise of ct or of narrative --> thats also how i like to invest
katana hits all the checks and i decided to bring superlend flavoured product on katana
what's next? adaptive looping vaults, kat maximiser vaults and many things that can be done to pass real value to the end users
while superlend builds its own channels to aggregate, optimise and plug entire evm lend/borrow liquidity into main superlend app, we think chain as katana demands a focused approach to build superlend flavoured defi products
also, because i believe in longer term this will turn out to be a good business decision as well
